The Examination of Elizabeth Johnson< no role >
taken on Oath the 22d. day of February 1786
before me one of his Majestys Justices of the
Peace for the County of Middlesex

Who on her Oath Saith That on Thursday evening the Ninth
day of February Instant about Seven O'Clock she there
being at her Masters House facing Stoly well Mount in
the Parish of Saint Leonard Shoreditch Middlesex , Her
Master and Mistress being gone out, Samuel Armstrong< no role >
[..] who is a Watchmaker and Works with her Master
was present with This Examinant in her Masters House
and about Seven O'Clock some Person Knocked at the
door, This Examinant and Armstrong then being in
the Kitchen below stairs, Armstrong went to the
Door and open'd it, And said aloud O'Lord, and
some Persons were in the Passage for near a Minute
this Examinant being then in the Kitchen she looked
to see who it was or who was coming in And

Examination came into the Kitchen to this Examinant
with or Handkerchief Over part of his face and presented a Pistol to this Examinant, And said
that if she resisted he would blow her bram's out
then he put his Hands over her Eyes and lyed
Something over her Face and tyed her hands behind
her and threw a Blanket over her, and took her
Apron of and tyed round her Nock to Prevent the
Blanket coming of, This Examinant Saith that
she believes the Persons were in the house near
a quarter of an hour and she heard Armstrong say
for God, take don't shoot me, he likewise said
pray don't take that Watch for it is my Masters
One of the Persons in the House said Damn you
What time will your Master be at Home To which
this Examinant Answered she Expected him at the
door every Minutes they then said good Night and
went away.
