Poor of the Parish of Saint Anne in
Black Friars London, and the
Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of Saint Andrew by the
Wardrobe in the same city
and to every of them.

WHEREAS Complaint hath been made unto us, two
of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the City of
London and Liberties thereof, one being of the Quorum,
by the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of Saint Anne in Black Friars
London, That Mary Lane< no role > an Infant of the Age
of four Years the Daughter of Jonathan Lane< no role > by
Sarah < no role > his Wife both deceased was
lately come to reside in their said Parish, not having obtain'd
any legal Settlement there, and was likely to become charge-
able thereto, unless timely prevented, which Complaint We
the said Justices, upon due Proof made thereof, as well upon
the Oath of Susannah Lane< no role > as otherwise, do
adjudge to be true; and we do also adjudge the last legal
Settlement of the said Mary
to be in the said Parish of Saint Andrew by the Wardrobe
as the place of her birth, the Settlement of the said Jonathan
Lane being unknown
and that thither to she ought by Law to be sent.

These are therefore in His Majesty's Name to will and
require you the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of Saint Anne in Black Friars
London, forthwith to remove and convey the said Mary
from and out of your said Parish, unto the said Parish of
Saint Andrew by the Wardrobe
And her deliver unto the Church-Wardens and Overseers
of the Poor there, or to some or one of them, together with
this our order, who is and are hereby required to receive and
provide for her until the Settlement of the said Jonathan be known according to Law. Given under our
Hands and Seals, this Eleventh Day of January One Thousand
Seven Hundred and Eighty five
