maketh Oath and saith
That on or about the third Day of the present Month of
October Robert Dewar< no role >
was committed to the Poultry
Compter
London by Mr. Alderman Hopkins on the Oath of this
Deponent and others for forging and counterfeiting or
procuring to be forged and counterfeited the last Will of
Shaw Farquharson< no role >
late a Seaman belonging to His
Majesty's Ship Roebuck< no role >
deceased in order to receive
Wages due for the Service of the said Shaw Farquharson
on board the said Ship And this Deponent saith
That previous to the said Robert Dewar< no role >
's Commitment
as aforesaid Probate of the said forged Will had been
granted by the prerogative Court of Canterbury
And this
Deponent being advised that no Indictment can
properly be preferred against the Prisoner for forging
the said Will the said Probate has been called in
or declared null and void by the said prerogative Court
he this Deponent hath therefore employed Messrs.
Major
and Slade Proctors in Doctors Commons to
take the necessary Steps for that purpose And this
Deponent further saith that he has been informed
by the said Mr. Slade (which Information he verily
believes to be true) that according to the ordinary
Proceedings of the said Court the said Probate will in
all
