John Scott< no role > of Chipping Wycomb in the County of Bucks paper maker and
Moses Mossenton< no role > of Great Marlow in the County aforesaid Bargeman severally
make oath and say And first the said John Scott< no role > for himself saith that on thesixteenthseventeenth
day of March last Eighty two Couples of paper called pound and half pound value
eighteen pounds nineteen shillings, one hundred and fifty four bundles of other
paper called small hand value fifty pounds one shillings, one hundred and forty
three bundles of other paper called Middle Land value Sixty pounds fifteen
Shillings and six pence and twenty bundles of other paper called Crown Tissue
value Eight pounds the property of this Deponent and of which this Deponent
was the maker was put on board a certain Barge belonging to Thomas Robinson< no role >
Bargemaster then lying on the River Thames at Wooburn in the said County of
Bucks in Order to be Transported from thence on account of this Deponent to
the City of London St. not this Deponent Jones Mossenton for himself saith
that the paper abovementioned was laden on board the said Barge of the said
Thomas Robinson< no role > (to whom this Deponent then was and now is Servant
as Costbearer on board the said Barge) on the said [..] seventeenth day of
March last And this Deponent further saith that on the said Seventeenth
day of the said month of March the said Barge proceeded from Woburn
aforesaid on her Voyage to the City of London And that in the course of
her said Voyage between the hours of eight and nine in the Evenings
of the eighteenth day of March last (it being at that time very dark night)
the said Barge then having the said paper on board as aforesaid
accidentally Ran against one of the files of Black Friars Bridge
by means whereof the said Barge was Sunk in the River Thames
within the City of London and great part of the aforesaid paper of
the said John Scott< no role > was thereby unfortunately lost and the other
remaining
