The Examination of William Jones< no role >
who was apprehended by Thomas Bull< no role > Constable in a House of ill Fame in Black Boy Alley with this City
and is now brought before me John Hart< no role > Esquire one of
his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the peace in and for
the said City, Who saith that he is now 23
Years of Age, says that he never served any
Apprenticeship , but that his Father John Jones< no role >
who has been dead about three Weeks, followed
the Business, or Employment of a Lath Render
that he constantly work'd with his Father
at the different places where he did the Work of
a hath Render, and learning the same hath
been employed in that Way, says that the first
place he worked at was about Eight Years ago with
Samuel Bennett< no role > Smith Esquire at Dockhead
now deceased, that he work'd there with his said
late Father about five years, says that he and that is
Father went from thence to work for Mr. Hudson< no role >
a Timber Merchant, the bottom of Addle Hill in
Black Friars< no role > , worked at lath rending there for
about five Months, says that afterwards he with his
said Father went to work with Medley & Howell
Timber Merchants at Black Friars Bridge , & staid
there about twelve months, says he cannot recollect
the Places he work'd at so as to mention them in their
proper Turns, but that he has work'd at Mr. Smith,
on the Surrey vide of Westminster Bridge , about a
year and a half, that he work'd for Mr. George Wyatt< no role >
at the Falcon, & made Laths for him, both himself
& Father together, about three Months, says that
the last place he work'd at was with a Mr.
Coleman facing< no role > St. Giles's Church , that he work'd
before that for said Coleman's Brother in Tottenham
Court Road for upwards of six Months, that he
work'd with Coleman of St. Giles's for three or four
