for himself saith, that on or about the sixteenth day
April last past the Prisoner now under Examination
came to the Four per Cent Consolidated Office, to receive
his, Dividend, but he don't remember whether the
Prisoner said upon how much StockSays, that he
searched the Books for the Stock of two hundred Pounds
in the Name of John Smith< no role >
of Tottenham
, Gentleman
and could not Find that Sum, but Found the Sum of
Four Hundred Pounds in the same Name and Description
Says, that he thereupon told the Prisoner he was wrong
in the Sum, and that there did appear the Sum of Four
hundred Pounds
in the aforesaid Name and Description
Says, that the Prisoner said, No, I am, not wrong, for I have
only two hundred PoundsSays, that on account of
this Dispute, Informantfor insisted indesired the Prisoner,
before he received his Warrant for the Payment of
the Sum of Four hundred Pounds, to produce some
Person who knew himthe Prisonerreferred to
then went and brought Mr Landefield, a Clerk
in the Bank, who saying to Informant, that he knew
the Prisoner, whereupon, he delivered to the Prisoner
a dividend Warrant for the Payment of half a
Year's dividend on the said Four hundred Pounds,
and the Prisoner signed, the dividend Book, and
a Receipt toforthe Warrant.
