The Examination of William Stuart< no role > Stewart
apprehended by Thomas Gates< no role > , CIty Marshal, and
brought before me James Townsend< no role > Esquire , one of
his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the Peace for the said City Who
bensaith, that he never heared where he was born
says, that he believes he is twenty two Years of Age
that he was bound an Apprentice to John Shippey< no role >
who was then a Sawyer in Tottenham Street , and
now in First Street, Tottenham Court Road Says
that he served the whole of the Five Years he was
bound for, to the said John Shippey< no role > Says, that
since the Expiration of the said Five Years, he has
worked as a Journeyman with sundry Masters, to wit
with Mr Sedden< no role > , Cabinet maker in Aldersgate
Street, with Mr. Mills a Sawyer in Houdsditch
with Mr. Sedden< no role > , at his Yard in Hounsditch with
Mr Miles, a Sawyer in Mint Street , South Wark
with Mr Hatchelt< no role > Coachmaker in Long Acre Says
that about six Weeks ago, he quitted Mr Hatchett's
Service, having worked with him ten or eleven Months
Says, that he lodged at the House of Mr Hodsley in< no role >
Tufton Street, Westminster , about thirteen Months
that about six Weeks ago, he quitted this Lodging, and
came to his Mother's lodgings, at a Cheesemonger 's
in the Strand , opposite Arundel Street Says,that
he has no Acquaintance with John Page< no role > who was
apprehended in his Company, and believes he never
saw him before Saturday lastSays, that he went
to the House in Harrow Alley , to buy some dry salmons
TroutSays that he has been there twice before, once,
to buy Chocolate, and the other time, CoffeeThat
Daniel Wilder< no role > , who worked with Mr Holden, at the
same time Examinant did, recommonded this House
to him- Says he had not been three Minutes or
much more in the House on Saturday before he
was taken into Custody
