Indicted for a Misdemeanor on the
prosecution of Thomas Irons.

Richard Small< no role > the Younger Apprentice to Richard Small< no role > the Elder of Fleet Lane London to Cane Maker the
Defendant in this Cause maketh oath and saith that he this Deponent
on Wednesday the Sixteenth day of October instant went to the house of
Squires a Carpenter at East Sheen in the County of Surrey
where Thomas Irons the abovenamed prosecutor resided or was to
be heard of as this Deponent was informed and verily beleives
And the saidSquires informed this Deponent that the said
Thomas Irons< no role > had been gone from the Service of him the said
Squires about Seven Weeks and was gone on board of a Man of
War which Information this Deponent verily believes to be true
And this Deponent saith that he hath made diligent Enquiry
where to find the said Thomas Irons in order to serve him with
the Notice of Trial hereunto annexed but could not obtain any
Information where the said Thomas Irons could be met with
otherwise than as before mentioned and lastly this Deponent saith
that he hath been informed and verily believes that at the time of
the said Thomas Irons entering into a Recognizance to prosecute the
Indictment in this Cause he described himself as residing at the house
of the said Squires at East Sheen aforesaid.
