May 1782

Informant JohnGeorgeWilkinson saith that between one and two o'Clock
on Saturday last the Prisoner John Burgess< no role > was brought into his Shop
by the other Informant William Woods< no role > who charged him with hearing
stolen the Marbellett stuff now Produced out of the Shop of Informant
which Informant saith is his Property

Informant William Woods< no role > saith that being on Saturday
Evening but in his Stall in Cock Court which faces the
Shop of InformantGeorgeJohn Wilkinson he saw the Prisoner
lean ever the Ship Window and take therefrom the Stuff now
produced and walk off with it upon which Informant pursued
himand overtook him but upon the Prisoner's perceiving that
he was pursued, dropt down the Stripps and endeavoured to run away That when
Informant apprehended the Prisoner he immediately took
him to Mr Wilkinson's Shop in Company with Thomas Warren< no role >
the other Informant to whom the Prisoner was given in
Charge together with the Stuff he had stolen

Informant Thomas Warren< no role > saith that the Stuff
now Produced in the same that wastaken from the Prisoner
anddelivered to him by Informant William Wood< no role >
