Thursday last the Eleventh Day of April Instant, he
this Deponent was bound in a Recognizance of Forty
Pound by William Addington< no role >
Esquire
one of his
Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex
at the Public Office in Bow Street
to bevoid upon Condition that
he should appear at the General Quarter Session of the
Peace their holding for the said County, and Prosecute the
abovenamed Bridges Guthery for Feloniously stealing
Goods of the Value of ten Pounds the Property of Mary
Cooke, Widow And this Deponent Further saith, that
in pursuarce of the said Recognizance, he preferred a
Bill of Indictment Yesterday Morning before the Grand
Jury of the said County of Middlesex
at Hicks Hall
in
Saint John Street
, against the said Bridget Guthery< no role >
for
the Felony aforesaid, which was returned by the said Jury
a true Bill And this Deponent Further saith, that
he went immediately from Hicks Hall
to Justices Hall
in the Trial of the said Bridget Guthery< no role >
coming on
And Further saith, that he enquired of several Persons
whom he believed and understood to be Officer of the
Court at the Old Bailey
, whether the Trial of the said
Bridget Guthery< no role >
was likely to come on in the course
of Yesterday Afternoon, or the Evening, and they
answered, that it being late when the Bill was Found
it was very improbable, that the Trial of the said
Bridget Guthery< no role >
would come on untill this Morning
And this Deponent Further saith, that he looked over
the List of Prisoners put up in the Old Bailey Yard
and the Name of the said Bridget Guthery< no role >
was not in
the said Last And this Deponent Further saith, that
he attended the Court at the Old Bailey
the whole of
Yesterday Afternoon, and untill eight O'Clock Yesterday
Evening, to give Evidence against the said Bridget
