Thomas Weston< no role > of Thames Street London Salt Merchant and William
Footner of Lymington in the county of Southampton Mariner part Owner of the
late Ship or Vessel called the Lymington severally make Oath and First the said
Thomas Weston< no role > for himself saith that on or about the Eighteenth Day of January last
Ninety Tens or Three Thousand and Six hundred Bushels of English Refined Salt
were Shipped or Loaded on Broad the said Ship or Vessel called The Lymington where of Joseph
Kittier was then Master at New Town in the Isle of Wight in Order to be Conveyed
by Sea to the Port of London for and on Account of this Deponent the said Thomas
Weston and several other persons residing in the City of London the Owners of the
said Salt and that soon afterwards the said Ship or Vessel sailed from New Town
aforesaid with the said Salt on Broad her in order to proceed on her Voyage for the
Port of London as this Deponent hath been informed and verily believes. And this
Deponent saith that the Duties for all the said hath been paid to his Majesty< no role >
And this Deponent the said William Footner< no role > for himself saith that on or about the
Twenty fifth day of the said Month of January last he was at Sea in the Ship or
Vessel called The Phanix (whereof he was Master) bound also to the Port of London
Loaded with Salt when the said Ship or Vessel called The Lymington Joined the
Convey at Sea off Bright the custom in the County of Sussex in her Voyage for the said
Port of London and that he this Deponent the said William Footner< no role > on the said
Twenty fifth Day of the said Month of January last spoke with the said Joseph Kittier< no role >
then on Board the said Ship or Vessel the Lymington which was in Good Condition
at Sea aforesaid And this Deponent the said William Footner< no role > further saith that
on or about Thirtieth Day of the said Month of January last he was informed and verily believes that
the said Ship or vessel called the Lymington and all the said Salt so loaded on
Board thereof together with the said Joseph Kitter< no role > the Master thereof and all the
Crew were lost and did Parish at Sea in Sea ford Bay in the said County of Sussex
