The Information of Barnwell Mayles< no role > a Servant
to Mr. Richard Akerman< no role > This name instance is in set 4413. the Keeper of Newgate Who, being
on Oath, saith that on Tuesday the Sixth day of their Instant
June between six and Seven o'Clock in the Evening he this
Informant saw James Kingsnorth, the Prisoner now under Examination with a Stick in his Hand
and a blue Cockade in him Hat, being then one of the Leaders
of a Mob [..] consisting of five or six hundred People at
the least, that he advanced [..] with such Mob
up to the main Gate of Newgate , that afterwards he saw
the said James Kingsnorth< no role > with a Candle in his Hand
[..] also saw him put part of a Chair upon
a Pile of Goods, which were set on Fire in about five
Minutes, that the said James Kingsnorth< no role > was [..] one
concerned in the Riot, and this Informant further saith that
[..] the Goal of Newgate was set on Fire and demolished the
same Evening, that he this Informant soon after he had remarked
Kingsnorth being one of the Rioters, was stationed in the
Inside of the Great Gate of the Goal so as not to [..] be able
to see the Rioters without, but he has not doubt [..] that
the Mob which firstcontinuedcame up did not depart [..]
before the sd. Goal was set on Fire, as he all along heard great
Noiser and Disturbance without
