the sd. 21st: day of Dec. in the Year afsd: at the parish aforesaiding
the Ward aforsd: had Notice thereof & then & there was duly required to appear among other in the
said Court then to be held on Monday next after the Feast of the Epiphany then next
following & now last past in the Guildhall of the said City of London before the Mayor
and Alderman if the same City to take his Corporal Oath for the due Execution of
his said Office last mentioned & to Execution the sd. Office last mentd: Nevertheless
the said Hugh Johnson little regarding his Duty in this behalf but intending & endeavouring &
totally to neglect & omit the due Execution of his Office last mentd: [..] after
his Execution to the said Office last mentioned to wit on the sd. Monday next after Feast of the Epiphany and a
Continually afterwardaftersaidhither to untill the day of the taking of this Inquisition
(altho' often requested) at the Parish & Wardlastafsd. Voluntarily Obstinately and
Contemptuously hath altogether refused & denied & doth yet refuse and deny to
take his said Oath for the Execution of his said Office last mentd: or in any
manner to Execute his sd. Office contrary to his said Duty In manifest Contempt
of our said Lord the King and his Laws to the great hinderance of Justice To the
bad Example of all other Person in the like Case offending and against the Peace of
our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity.
