Middlesex to wit


The Information of John Corne< no role > taken before
me this 24th. day of January 1777

Who being upon Oath says that he knows Francis Tustin< no role > now
in Custody at Maid Stone , John Hurst< no role > , Sarah Cooley< no role > and John Savage< no role >
now in Custody in Town, Samuel Field< no role > & William Hogg< no role > not yet taken,
says that during the Course of several Months past the persons
above mentioned and this Informant have been concerned together
in making Buckles and colouring them in Imitation of Silver and
stamping them with a Mark resembling the Mark used for stamping
Silver Plate by the Company of Goldsmiths in London, that great
Numbers of the said Buckles have been sold to different persons in
London Middlesex Southwark & in different parts of the Country
by the said Justin Fieldhurst < no role > and this Informant, that on Monday
last the said John Hurst< no role > and this Informant stamped three pair of
been Metal Buckles with the Mark of a Lion being the mark used by
the Company of Goldsmiths in London and afterwards coloured them
so as to resemble Silver that two pair of Buckles now produced are
part of the Buckles so stamped by the said John Hurst< no role > and this
Informant as aforesaid and that the said Transaction was done
at the said John Hursts Lodging in Richards Buildings Shoe Lane ,
that about three Weeks ago the said William Hogg< no role > Francis Tustin< no role > Saml.

< no role > and this Informant stamped 14 pair of Buckles with the
same Mark at a house in a Court near Golden Lane as hick
Buckles were afterwards disposed of as Silver ones in different parts
of the Town for the Benefit of all the said persons last mentioned
that about six or seven weeks ago the said John Savage< no role > the said William
Hogg
< no role > and this Informant stamped one pair of bass Metal Buckles
at the said Savage's house in Beech Lane with the Merk of a Lion resembling the
Mark used by the Company of Goldsmiths in London for marking
Silver Plate that the said Buckles were afterwards disposed by
as Silver, that this Informant and his Accomplices before
