mentioned have at sundry Times bought great Quantities of Buckles
of the said John Savage< no role >
who was privy to their Intention of Colouring
the said Buckles in Imitation of Silver and of marking then with
a Mark to resemble the Mark and for marking Silver Plate by
the Company of Goldsmith in the City of London, and this
Informant further says that the above mentioned John Hurst< no role >
made the Stamps now produced one of which has the stamp of a
Lion on it and the other has A M on it, and that the said Wm.
Hogg< no role >
made also two other Stamps which are not Yet found one
of which Stamps has a Lion on it and the other J H, and
this Informant further says that about three Months ago the
said Francis Tustin< no role >
one Johnson who is since gone to Sea and
this Informant Stamped three pair of base Metal Buckles in
a house in a Yard near Cow Cross
with a Lion that the said
Justin had made the Stamp and the said Johnson sold one
pair of the said Buckles as Silver and attempting to sell
a second pair of they he was stopped and carried before
the Lord Mayor
