Day of July 1776 at the Parish
of Saint Michael Queenhith in
the Ward of Queenhith London
on an Inquisition taken on the
Body of John Chesterment< no role >
there lying dead.

John Mackanelly< no role > lodging at the late Dwelling
House of the deced in Thames Street near
Paul's Wharf London, Labourer on his Oath
Saith that last Friday the nineteenth Day of this
instant July about four in the Afternoon, John
Lowe
< no role > and Daniel Bushnell< no role > were on Board a
Barge belonging to George Robinson< no role > , then lying
in the River of Thames near Bull Wharf
in the said Parish and Ward, and the deced
endeavoured to go into the said Barge by means
of a Plankwhich restedthe one End of which
Rested on the Said Wharf and the other End on
the [..] side of the said Barge, and Said Daniel
Bushnell refused the said deced's coming over
the said Plank, saying he should get another
Plank, but notwithstanding the deced got
upon the said Plank, and walked about three
Parts of the Plank towards the Barge
Whereupon said Daniel Bushnell moved [..]
drawedthe said Plank a little on one side
and the deced immediately fell therefrom
into the said River, and sank directly, and
the said Daniel Bushnellstretchedstretched
over the Barge in order to save the deced as Dept.
believes, says the deced was taken up in about
four Minutes time, and appeared to Deponent
