The Information of John Shoolbred< no role >
taken before me this 27th. day of March 1772

Who being upon Oath says that he was one of the Underwriters to
a Policy of Insurance on the Vessel Polly Thos. Stroud< no role > Master
bound from London to Africa & back to London which Policy
was dated the 3rd. March 1770 that by Virtue of two protests now
produced purporting to be protests of Henry Eastwick this
Informant and the other Underwriters were obliged to pay and did pay
the Monies insured on the said Ship and this Informant further
says that he is informed and verily believes that at the Time
the saidProtests were orderMonies were paid a Person in Cork in Ireland whose
name is William Sheys< no role > had in his Possession for the Use of
the said Henry Eastwick< no role > one hundred and thirty six Pounds which
he had received for Gold Dust which had been saved out of
the said Ship and that the said Henry Eastwick< no role > afterwards
received the said Money for the said Gold Dust and applied
the same to his own Use without giving any Account thereof
to this Informant or any of the Underwriters whereby this
Informant and the other Underwriters are defrauded of
the Sum of one hundred and thirty six Pounds
