28th. day of January 1772
Who being on Oath says that on the 21st. of October 1765 a Draught
purporting to be the Draught of Joshua Van Neck< no role >
& Co. upon the Cashiers of
the Bank of England
dated London 21st. Octr. 1765 for four thousand five
hundred pounds now produced was published at the Bank of England
and that he does verily believe the said Draught was falsely made
forged and counterfeited with Intention to defraud the Governor and
Company of the Bank of England
, and farther says to has caused
every necessary Enquiry to be made relation to that Transaction and
that he has also caused an Enquiry to be made relative to a Forgery
lately supposed to have him committed by one Thomas Wood< no role >
and
that from the Event of these Enquiries he does verily believe that
a person concerned in the false making forging and counterfeiting
the said Draught and that the Governor and Company of the Bank
of England were defrauded of the said sum of four thousand five
hundred pounds by Means of the said Draught
