Middlesex To wit

The Information of John Bonnett< no role >
of Founders Court Lothbury and
Abraham Barew< no role > taken before me
this 25th. day of April 1771

Who being upon Oath say and first the said John Bonnett< no role >
for himself says that on the 14th. day of September last
a person now present who calls himself Gumpay Humphries< no role >
came to his house and uttered to this Informant an Order for the Payment
of Money now produced purporting to be the Order of R. Wennist upon
Messrs. Gines & Atkinson for the Payment of thirty five pounds
eight Shillings, that this Informant believing the said Order to be a
good one sold the said Gumpay Humphries< no role > a Diamond ring of the
Value of twenty seven pounds and gave the said Gumpay Humphries< no role >
in Exchange for the said Order the sum of eight Guineas besides
the said ring, that he since finds the said Order is not a good one
and that the said Messrs. Gines & Atkinson will not pay the said Order
there being no such person as R. Wennit keeping Cash with them
and the said Abraham Barew< no role > for himself says that he have the
said Gumpay Humphries that the said Gumpay Humphries well
knew the said Order to be of no Value when he so uttered it
to the said John Bennet< no role > , that this Informant Abraham Barew< no role >
was waiting at a Public house in the Neighbourhood while
