Deponent Bowman Brown on the third Day of March last as
this Deponent verily believes as to the time did Send or bring to this
Deponent the Case a Copy whereof is above written and required
an immediate Answer thereto and this Deponent being in great
Hurry of Business did while the same was waited for underwrite
the same in manner as before deposed by the other Deponent as his
then Opinion And this Deponent further Saith that at the time of
giving the said Opinion he thought the same to the right And Lastly
the said Deponent Bowman Brown< no role > for himself further saith
that he did not made the said Agreements with any Intent to gain
one shilling thereof to himself but to imploy the same towards the
Expences in detecting Offenders in Such like Male Practices as is
above mentioned in the Coal Trade for publick Utility and he is
at this Time more than One hundred pounds out of Pocket in
what he hath already done and many Sacks that were before Hent
in their Dimensions are now become lengthened and many that
were not Sealed are now carried to the proper Office to be Sealed
and owing to the Pursuit of him this Deponent in detecting the
said Offences And that for the Reasons herein above mentioned
he this Deponent if this Court will be pleased to put off the Trial of
the said Indictments till next Sessions to give this Deponent an
Opportunity to apply in the mean time for a Noli Prosequi in
every of the said Indictments above mentioned this Deponent will
with the Leave of this Court apply for the same
