this 19th.. day of Augt. 1766
Who being upon Oath says that he had yesterday feloniously
Stolen out of his Lodgings one Suit of blue Cloth Cloaths and seventeen
Shillings in Money [..] and farther says that from the extra ordinary
bad Character of James Penticost< no role >
a Lodges in the same house
and now [..] present hi suspected him to be the Thief and had
him Apprehended and upon his Person being Searched a paper non
produced was found in his Pocket which this Informant possitirely
swears was in his Waistcoat Pocket at the time it was Stolen
from which circumstance thir Informt. verily believes the
said James Penticost< no role >
did feloniously Steal take and carry
away his said Cloaths and Money
