Informations taken this 19th. day of November
1761 on an Inquisition taken on the Body of
Edward Souch< no role > the Elder lying dead at the Parish of Saint
Margaret New Fish Street in the Ward of Bridge within
London; before Thomas Beach< no role > Esqr . his Majesty's
Coroner for the City of London .

James Richards< no role > Apprentices to the deceased at the
time of his Death maketh Oath and saith that
he was present at his Masters House on Tuesday last
between the House of 8 & 9 in the Evening when Robert
Green Street
< no role > this Depts. Fellow Servant Journeyman
to the deceased came house intoxicated with Liquor
that he went up then Pair of Stairs in Order as
Deponent then believed to go the Bed, but presently
afterwards came down again, and went into the
little Room behind the Shop where the deceased then
was; that the sd. Greenstreet asked the deceased if
any person had been thereto enquire after him, to
which the deced made answer there had not nor
did the deced want any body to came after him:
that the sd. Greenstreet then asked the deceased to
pay him fifty shillings that ward due to him for five
Weeks Wagestowhich the deced refused to pay him
telling him he would pay him no money till [..] a
Quartor was due, on which sd. Green abused
the deced very much by calling him Rogue & giving
him other opprobious Language that the deced find
sd. GreenStreet to get out of the Room, but here fused
saying he would not till he was paid his money; that
the deced being in his Chair, rise from it, & endeavoured
to put him out; and on Greenstreet not moving
the deced street GreenStreet two Blows in his Face
but Dept. cannot tell whether the Blows either of
then were given by the Fist or the open had, but the sd.
GreenStreet did not appear to be much hurt [..] did this
Dept. see any Blood if us from Greenstreet: that sd.
Greenstreet thereupon touch the deced two or three
times in the face with his Fist. & showed the deced down
& after he was down struch him again there or four Blows
