Whereas by an Order or Pass Warrant under the Hands and Seals of two
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
for the City of London
and Libertys thereof
one being of the Quorum bearing Date the ninth Day of July last a poor Woman
therein called Ann Greenaway< no role >

a Prisoner in Ludgate
for Debt and their three Children Ann< no role >

aged four Years and

aged one Year were sent and delivered by the Churchwardens and Overseers
of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Giles without Cripplegate
London unto the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Michael in
Crooked Lane
London the said Justices adjudging the last legal Settlement of
the said Thomas Greenaway< no role >
the said Ann and their said three Children to be in the
said Parish of Saint Michael
Now upon hearing the Petition and Appeal of the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Michael
against the said Warrant and Judgment of the said Justices in the Presence of the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Giles aforesaid
and having heard what could be alledged on either Side It is thereupon ordered
that the said warrant and Judgment of the said two Justices so far only as relates to
the said poor Woman be quashed vacated and set a side and that the Appeal in that Respect
be and the same is herby allowed and that the said poor Woman be sent back and
delivered to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Giles
to be by them maintained and provided for until they can free themselves from the
Charge thereof by due Course of Law And as to the Residue of the Premises It is Ordered
that the said Warrant and Judgment of the said two Justices concerning the said Children
and every or either of them be and the same is hereby confirmed and established and
the Appeal in that Respect only is hereby dismissed and that the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of Saint Michael do maintain and provide for the
same Children until they can free themselves from the Charge thereof by due Course of
Law.
