said City and others their fellows Justices assigned to keep the peace
of our said Lord the King within the said City and also to hear and
determine divers Felonies trespasses and other, misdeeds committed
within the said City.
Whereas by an order or pass warrant under the hands and Seals of two of his
Majesty's Justices of the peace of this City (one being of the Quorum) bearing date the

aged nine months by the
said Esther were sent and delivered by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of
the parish of Saint Botolph Aldersgate
unto the Churchwardens and Overseers of
the poor of the parish of Saint James Clerkenwell
in the County of Middlesex
the
said Justices thereby adjudging their last legal Settlement in the said last mentioned
parish Now upon hearing the petition and appeal of the Churchwardens & Overseers
of the poor of the said parish of Saint James at Clerkenwell
against the said
warrant and adjudication of the said two Justices in the presence of the Church
wardens and Overseers of the poor of the said parish of Saint Botolph Aldersgate
who consented to have the said warrant or order quashed It is thereupon ordered
by this Court that the same warrant be quashed and vacated and that the appeal
be allowed and the Same is hereby allowed accordingly And it is further, ordered
that the said Benjamin Stanley< no role >
and his said wife and two Children be
forthwith sent back and delivered to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the
poor of the said parish of Saint Botolph to be by them maintained and
provided until they can free themselves from the charge thereof by due
course of Law
