John Harrison< no role > the Deft. in this Cause and John Douglass< no role > of the parish of
St. Andrew Holborn London severally make Oath and say and first this Dept
John Harrison< no role > for himself saith that he this Dept. being Indicted at the Sessions
of Oyer and Terminar held for the City of London on Wednesday the twelfth
day of October One thousand seven hundred and for [..] for [..]
Corrupt [..] To which [..] sd. Indictment [..]
for the said City at Justice Hall in the Old Bailey in May last this [..]
appeared preaded and Enterd into a Recognizance with sureties to Try the
same at the then next Sessions to be hold at the sd. Justice Hall in the Old
Bailey And this Dept. Saith that Ann Charrier< no role > wife of Lewis Charrier< no role >
late of London Alechant who is a material Witness for this Dept. in this
Cause went beyond sea to Rachfort in France in January last (Since
which the said Ann Charrier< no role > hath so lately as the thirtieth of June last
been Delivered of her first Child and [..] very Daug [..] Time as
this Dept. was informed [..]
Rochfort in France) and this Dept. saith that by reason of her absence the
Tryal of this Indictment was put off till this present Sessions And this
Dept. saith she has not as this Dept verily beleives been able to under go
so long a Journey and is not yet Return'd but is till at Rochfort in
France But this Dept. is informed and verily beleives the said Ann Charrier< no role >
will return to London in two or three Months Time and not Sooner And
this Dept saith that without the Testimony of the said Ann Charrier he
this Dept. [..] safely proceed to Tryal in the aforesaid Indictment [..]
said Dept. further saith that he Did on the eleventh instant [..]
the prosecution John Beddall with the annexed Notice markt. (No. 1.) by them
delivering to him a Copy thereof at his house in Lodge Lane near Char [..]
And this Dept. John Douglas< no role > for himself Saith that on the fifteenth of the [..]
Septr. he personally served the said John Bedall< no role > with a Copy of the Notice
hereunto annexed markt ( No.2) then delivering same to him at his sd
house in Hedge Lane aforesaid
