At the General Quarter Session of the Peace holden for the City of London
at the Guildhall within the said City on Monday the 30th. day of June in
the 20th. Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second King of
Great Britain Etc before Sir Richard Hoare< no role > Knt . Mayor of the City of
London John Stracey< no role > Esqr . Recorder of the said City Sir Robert Ladbroke< no role >
Knt . Thomas Winterbottom< no role > Esqr . Alderman of the said City and others
their Fellows Justices Assigned to keep the Peace of our said Lord the
King within the said City and also to hear and Determine divers
Felonies Trespasses and other misdeeds Committed within the said
City.

Whereas a Male Bastard Child Aged Nine years Baptized by the name
of Thomas by Virtue of An Order or Pass Warrant under the Hands and Seals
of two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the City of London (one
being of the Quorum) bearing date the second day of June 1746. was
sent and Delivered by the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of
the Parish of Saint Mary Monthaw London unto the Churchwardens &
Overseers of the poor of the Parish of Saint Luke in the County of
Middlesex upon the Oath of Esther Thomas< no role > that the said Child was
Born of the Body of Mary Thomas< no role > in the Parish of Saint Luke in
the County of Middx out of Lawful Wedlock Now upon hearing
the Petition and Appeal of the Churchwardens & Overseers of the
Poor of the said Parish of Saint Luke in the County of Middx against
the said Warrant and Judgment of the said two Justices in the
Presence & hearing of the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of Saint Mary Mounthaw London and having
heard What Could be alledged on either side by the Respective
Churchwardens their Council & Witnesses in and Concerning the
Premisses It is thereupon Order'd by this Court that the said
Warrant and Judgement of the said two Justices be and
the same is hereby Confirmed and it is further Ordered
by this Court that the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of St. Luke Middx. do maintain and Provide for the
said Male Bastard Child until they Can free themselves from the
Charge thereof by due Course of Law.
