Be it Remembred That at the General Quarter Session of the Peace holden for the City of London
at the Guildhall within the said City on Wednesday the Fourteenth day of January in the Twentieth Year of
the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second King of Great Britain Etc Before William Bean< no role > Esqr .
Mayor of the City of London John Stracey< no role > Esqr . Recorder of the said City Sir Daniel Lambert< no role > Knt . Sir
Robert Ladbroke< no role > Knt . Aldermen of the said Cityof London and other their Fellows Justice [..]
Assigned to keep the Peace of our said Lord the King within the said City and also to hear & determine
divers Feloines Trespasses and other Misdeeds Committed within the said City by the Oath of Twelve
Jurors Good & lawfull Men of the said City of London then & there Sworn & Charged to Enquire for
our said Lord the King for the Body of the said City It is presented as followeth (that is to say)
London The Jurors for our Sovereign Lord the King upon their Oath Present That Thomas Mumford< no role >
Otherwise Mountford< no role > late of London Yeoman and William Andrews< no role > late of the same Yeoman
upon the Nineteenth day of November in the Twentieth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord
George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France & Ireland King Defender of the Saith
and so forth with force & Arms at London (that is to say) at the Parish of Allhallows Barking in the
Ward of Tower in London aforesaid in a certain Place there Scituate called Stone Stairs in and upon
one Benjamin Thrumpton< no role > then & there being One of the Porters of the City of London called Billingsgate
Porters and also Commonly called Fellowship Porters and in the Peace of God and of our said Lord
the King and being also then & there in the Transaction of his lawfull Business as One of the said
Billingsgate otherwise Fellowship Porters Unlawfully & without any just Cause or Provocation
whatsoever did make an assault and him the said Benjamin Thrumpton< no role > then & there being in the
Transaction of such his lawfull Business as one of the said Billingsgate Otherwise Fellowship
Porters as aforesaid they the said Thomas Mumford< no role > otherwise Mountford and William Andrews< no role >
did then & there with force & Arms Unlawfully without any just Cause or Provocation whatsoever
Push & throw down upon a certain Plank or Board then & there placed upon a certain Lighter or
Vessell then & there lying upon the River Thames By reason & means whereof he the said Benjamin
Thrumpton was then & there hundered & Obstructed from Transacting his said lawfull Business as
One of the said Billingsgate otherwise Fellowship Porters and was also then & there put into very
great fear and danger of losing his Life by falling into the said River Thames that is to say at
London aforesaid in the Parish and Ward aforesaid and other Mischiefs to & upon him the said
Benjamin Thrumpton< no role > they the said Thomas Mumford< no role > otherwise Mountford & William Andrews< no role >
then & there did bring and do To the great Damage of him the said Benjamin Thrumpton< no role > To the
Evil and Pernicious Example of all others in the like Case Offending and against the Peace of
our said Sovereign Lord the King his Crown and Dignity And the said Jurors upon their said
Oath further Present That the said Thomas Mumford< no role > otherwise Mountford William Andrews< no role >
upon the said Nineteenth day of November in the said Twentieth Year of his said present
Majestys Reign with force and Arms at London aforesaid (that is to say) at the said Parish in the
said Ward in a certain publick Place there Scituate called Stone Stairs in & upon the said Benjamin
Thrumpton then & there being in the Peace of God and of our said Sovereign Lord the King did
Unlawfully and without and just Cause or Provocation whatsoever make an assault and him the said
Benjamin Thrumpton< no role > they the said Thomas Mumford< no role > otherwise Mountford & William Andrews< no role > did
then & there without any just Cause or Provocation whatsoever push and Throw down upon a certain
Plank or Board then & there Placed upon a certain Lighter or Vessell then & there lying upon the said
River of Thames by reason and means whereof the said Benjamin Thrumpton< no role > was then & there put
into very great fear and Danger of losing his Life by falling into the said River Thames there that is to
say at London aforesaid in the Parish and Ward aforesaid And other Mischiefs to and upon him
the said Benjamin Thrumpton< no role > they the said Thomas Mumford< no role > Otherwise Mountford & William
Andrews then & there did To the Great Damage of the said Benjamin Thrumpton< no role > To the Evil
