in a certain publick place there scituate called Stone Stairs

& in the Peace of God & of the said Lord the King & being also then &
there in the Transaction of his lawfull business as One of the Billingsgate

Porters aforesaid did unlawfully & without any just Cause or Provocation whatsoever make
an Assault & him the said

without any just Cause or Provocation whatsoever hitt & strike by giving him the said

three terrible & grievous Blows in & upon the right Side of him the said Richard

being then & these upon a certain Plank or Board placed & lying upon a certain Lighter or
Vessell then & there being upon the River of Thomas there & in the Transaction of his said
lawfull business as one of the Billingsgate

there with force & Arms unlawfully & without any just Cause or Provocation whatsoever push
& Thrust by the force & Violence whereof he the said

losing his Life And also by reason & means of which said Premises he the said
