Be if Remembred that on the thirtieth day of November in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and forty in the City of London Charles Jones< no role > one of the Marshals of this
City cometh in his proper person before in Henry Marshall< no role > Esquire Lord Mayor of the said City of London and Sir Robert Laborke < no role > Knight One of the Aldermen of the said City two of his Majesty's Justices assigned to
Keep the peace in and for the said City and also to hear and determine diverge Felonys Trespasses and other Offences committed within the said City and giveth Information to he the same Justices that Francis
Baker
< no role > of the parish of Saint Christopher le Stocks within the City of London aforesaid after the twenty first day of December in the year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and twenty one to witt on
the twenty ninth day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and forty four did in the same parish within the City aforesaid Keep an Office under the Denomination of a Sale
of plate and Jewells for the Improvement of Small sums of Money and did then and there expose to Sale certain Plate and Jewells by way of Lottery by Tickett numbred and did at the Same time and place
aforesaid publish a Scheme or proposal for the selling by Subsciption the same plate and Jewells supposed to be of the Value of three thousand pounds in Sixty thousand Shares at One Shilling each Share
the said Place and Jewells to be disided among the propriotors of such Shares by the Chances of the prizes in the Publick Lottery Established and allowed by an Act of Parliament made at a Session of a Parliament
held at Westminster on the first day of December in the Seventeenth year of the Reign of his present Majesty Entituled An Act for raising by Annuities and a Lottery in manner therein mentioned the
Sum of One Million Eight hundred thousand pounds at three pounds per Contum per Annum, for the service of the year One Thousand Seven hundred and forty four
And on the Same twenty ninth day of November in the said year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and forty four at London aforesaid at the parish aforesaid die deliver out two of the said Ticketts
to one William Martindale< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. for and in Consideration of two Shillings of lawfull Money of this Realm by him advanced for the same to entitle him to the Chance of two Shares of the plate and Jewells
aforesaid according to the Scheme aforesaid contrary to the form of the Statute in that case made and provide And thereupon Afterwards to witt on the fifth day of December in the said year of
Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and forty four at Justice Hall in the Old Bailey in the City London aforesaid the aforesaid William Matindale of London Yeoman one of the
Marshalls Men belonging to the said City of London being a Credible Vitness in this behalf cometh in his own proper person before is the said Justices And Now here taketh his Corporal Oath upon the
holy Cospell of Coe to speak the truth of and upon the premisses in the Information aforesaid above Specifyed before us the said Justices Now here having sufficient power and Authority to administer

read to him doth upon his Oath aforesaid say depose and Swear that the said Francis Baker in the said Francis Baker in the said Information mentioned on the said twenty ninth day of November in the said year of our Lord
One thousand Seven hundred and forty four at London aforesaid at the parish of Saint Christopr le Stock's die keep an Office under the denomination of a Sale of plate and [..] for the Improvement of

Tickets numbred for and in Consideration of two Shillings of Lawfull Money of this Realm by him then and there advanced one paid to the said Francis Baker for the same to entitle him the said
William Martindale< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. to the Chance of two Shares of the Plate and Jewells aforesaid according to the Scheme aforesaid Whereupon and after Summons being in due manner made to the said Francis Baker< no role >
in this behalf that is to say on the same fifth of December One thousand Seven hundred and forty four at Justice Hall in the Old Bailey in London aforesaid the Said Francis Baker< no role > cometh before us
the said two Justices and then and there appearing and being present in his own proper person and the Information aforesaid and the Matter therein contained and the said Evidence thereupon given
being was here read unto and fully understood by the said Francis Baker in the presence of is the said Justices He the said Francis Baker< no role > is now here asked by us the said Justices if he hath or Knoweth
of any thing to say for himself why he the said Francis Baker< no role > should not be consisted of the premisses aforesaid above charged upon him in form aforesaid and because upon hearing and by us the
said Justice fully understanding All and Singular the Matters and things now here alledged by the said Francis Baker in his defence of and upon the premisses (above charged upon him) It
manifestly appeareth unto in the said Justices that the said Francis Baker< no role > is guilty of the premisses in and by the said Information charged upon him in manner and form as in the Information aforesaid is above
alledged upon him Therefore it is Now here considered and adjudged by us the aforesaid Justices that the said Francis Baker< no role > upon then Evidence of the said William Martindale< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. a Credible Witness upon Oath
as aforesaid before in the said Justices so as aforesaid taken be and is con [..] the premisses so as aforesaid laid to his Charge according to the form of the statute in such case made and provide the
that he the said Francis Baker< no role > do for feit the Sum of five hundred pounds for the Offence aforesaid whereof he is convicter as aforesaid to be applyed and paid according to the direction of the Statute
in such Case made and provided And that the said Francis Baker< no role > be committed to his Majesty's Coal of Newgate (being the County Coal for London aforesaid) there to remain without Bail or
Main prize for the Space of one whole year And from thence till the said dum of Five hundred pounds forfeited as aforesaid shall be fully paid and satisfyed In Witness whereof We the said Justices
do Set our hands and Seals to this Record at Justice Hall aforesaid in London aforesaid the said fifth day of December in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and forty Four
