Misdemeanours committed in the sd: County of Middlesex with a Felony committed by him the said Wm. Frankland< no role > in the
County of Oxford and to Cause the said Wm. Frankland< no role > to be detained in the said Goal of Newgate for the Same And that for
these Purposes he the said Edward Bygrave< no role > should Personate one John Spurce< no role > of the Parish of Aynoe on the Hill in the
County of Nothampton Salesman And the sd. Elizabeth Nicholls< no role > This name instance is in set 1683. & Edward Bygrave< no role > to compleat & Perfect their sd. wicked
Combinations, Intentions & Conspiracy the sd: 9th of November in the Year aforesd. at Kensington aforesd. in the said
County of Middlesex did go before one Wm: Morice< no role > Esqr then one of the sd. Justices of the sd. Lord the King assigned to keep the
Peace of the said Lord the King in the sd. County of Middx And Also to hear & determine diverse Felonies, Trespasses & other
Misdemeanours committed in the County last aforesd. And the sd. Edward Bygrave< no role > then & there in the presence and with the knowledge
and Privity of the sd. Elizabeth Nicholls< no role > This name instance is in set 1683. and in Pursuance of the said Combination & Conspiracy (the said Edward Bygrave< no role >
then & there Personating the said John Spurce< no role > ) before the said Wm. Morice< no role > (the sd. Wm. Morice< no role > then and long before
being one of the Justices of the said Lord the King assigned to keep the Peace of the said Lord the King in the County of
Middx And Also to hear & determine divers Felonies, Trespasses & other misdemeanous committed in the said County of
Middlesex and having sufficient Authority to administer an oath to the sd. Edward Bygrave< no role > in that behalf) did then in the
said Parish of Kensington Voluntarily falsely & maliciously upon his Corporal oath depose Swear & inwriting affirm
That a Person then in Custody in his Majesty's Goal of Newgate in the County of Middx who went by the Name of William
Franklyn
< no role > and by the Nick Name of Rusty Dick< no role > (meaning the sd. William Frankland< no role > who was then in Custody in the sd. Goal)
did on or about the 20th: day of October which was in the Year of our Lord 1736. Attack him (meaning him the said
Edward Bygrave< no role > who then Personated the said John Sparce< no role > ) on the Highway as he (meaning himself the said Edward
Bygrave then Personating the sd. John Spurce< no role > ) was travelling between Islip & Weatley in Oxford Shire that he (meaning
the sd. Wm. Frankland< no role > ) robbed him (meaning himself the sd: Edward Bygrave< no role > then Personating the sd. John Spurce< no role > ) and
Forcibly took from him (Meaning himself the sd: Edward Bygrave< no role > then Personating the sd. John Spurce< no role > ) one Guinea
Fifteen Shillings in Silver a Silver Watch & Hatt And that the said Robbery was committed in the Day time between the
hours of Four & five o'Clock in the Afternoon on or about the sd: 20th: October in the Year 1736: and that he (meaning
himself the sd. Edward Bygrave< no role > then Personating the sd: John Spurce< no role > ) was very Possitive that the Person who robbed
him (meaning himself the sd. Edward Bygrave< no role > then personating the sd. John Spurce< no role > as aforesd) was the said William
Fanklyn abovenamed (meaning thereby the sd: Wm Frankland< no role > ) as by the sd. Examination may more at large appear
Whereas in Truth & in fact the sd. Wm: Frankland< no role > or the sd: Wm: Franklyn< no role > who is mentioned to have been called by
the Nick Name of Rusty Dick did not at any time attack robber or forcibly take away from any Person whatsoever
on the Highway in the said County of Oxford any money or goods whatsoever which sd: Combination & Conspiracy of
the sd: Elizabeth Nicholls< no role > This name instance is in set 1683. & Edward Bygrave< no role > were to the great Peril of the life & destruction of the said William
Frankland To the manifest Persversion of the Laws of this Kingdom To the Evil Example of all others in the
like Case offending and against the Peace of the said Lord the King his Crown & Dignity etc Whereupon the
Sheriff of the sd: County of Middx was commanded that he should not omit by reason of any Liberty in his Bailwick
