At the General Quarter Session of the peace of our Lord the King holden for the
City of London by Adjournment at the Guildhall within the said City on Thursday the
twenty first day of January One thousand seven hundred and forty one in the
fifteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second King of
Great Britain etc. Before Sir John Strange< no role > Knight Recorder of the City of
London Sir John Salter< no role > Knight Robert Westley< no role > Esquire and Robert Ladbrooke< no role >
Esquire Aldermen of the said City nd others their Fellows Justices of our said
Lord the King assigned to keep the peace of our said Lord the King
within the said City and also to hear and determine diverse Felonies
Trespasses and other Misdeeds committed within the said City.

Whereas John Burton< no role > aged about twenty Years by Virtue of an Order or Pass
Warrant under the Hands and Seals of two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the City of London (One being of the Quorum) bearing Date the thirteenth Day
of July One thousand seven hundred and forty one was sent and delivered by
the Church Wardens and Overseers of the poor of the Parish of Saint Botolph
Aldgate London unto the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the parish
of Christ Church in the County of Middlesex Upon the Oath of Zacheus
Bourne< no role > that the said John Burton< no role > served six Years of his Apprenticeship with
Mr. William Russell< no role > a Horner in the Parish of Christ Church in the County of
Middlesex Now upon hearing the Petition and Appeal of the Church Wardens
and Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Christ Church in the County of
Middlesex in the presence and hearing of the Church Wardens and Overseers
of the poor of the said Parish of saint Botolph Aldgate London against the
Warrant and Judgment of the said two Justices and having hears what could
be alledged on either side by the respective Church Wardens their Councel
and Witnesses in and concerning the Premisses It is thereupon now Ordered
and Considered by this Court that the Warrant and Judgment of the said two
Justices be Quashed and the Appeal allowed And that the said John Burton< no role >
be sent bark and delivered to the Church Wardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the said Parish of saint Botolph Aldgate London to be by them
maintained and provided for untill they can free themselves from the Charge
thereof by due Course of Law.
