At the General Quarter Session of the peace of our Lord the King holden for the
City of London by Adjournment at the Guildhall within the said City on Thursday the
twenty first Day of January One thousand seven hundred and forty one in the
fifteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second King of Great
Britain etc. Before Sir John Strange< no role > Knight Recorder of the City of London Sir John
Salter
< no role > Knight Robert Westley< no role > Esquire and Robert Ladbrooke< no role > Esquire Aldermen of
the said City and others their Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King assigned to
keep the peace of our said Lord the King within the said City and also to hear
and determine diverse Felonies Trespasses and other Misdeeds committed
within the said City.

Whereas John Clark< no role > Elizabeth< no role > his Wife and their three Children Elizabeth< no role > aged
sixteen Years Mary< no role > aged ten Years and Rachael< no role > aged nine Years by Virtue of an
Order or Pass Warrant under the Hands and Seals of two of his Majestys Justices
of the Peace for the City of London (One being of the Quorum) bearing Date the
twenty sixth Day of May One thousand seven hundred and forty one were sent
and delivered by the Church Wardens and Overseers of the poor of the Parish of
Saint Botolph Bishopsgate London unto the Church Wardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the parish of Saint Luke in the County of Middlesex Upon the Oath of
Dorcas Clark< no role > and other Circumstances that the last legal Settlement of the said
John Clarke< no role > is in the Parish of Saint Luke in the County of Middlesex Now
upon hearing the Petition and Appeal of the Church Wardens and Overseers of
the poor of the said Parish of Saint Luke in the County of Middlesex against
the Warrant and Judgment of the said two Justices and having heard what
could be alledged on either Side by the respective Church Wardens their
Councel and Witnesses in and concerning the premisses It is thereupon
considered and Ordered by this Court that the Judgment and Warrant of
the said two Justices be and the same is hereby confirmed And it is
likewise further Ordered that the said John Clark< no role > Elizabeth< no role > his Wife and
their three Children Elizabeth, Mary and Rachael be provided for and Maintained
by the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of
Saint Luke in the County of Middlesex untill they can free themselves from
the Charge thereof by due Course of Law.
