in the Ninth year of the Reign of King
George the second of Great Britain Etc
This Court proceeded for Hear the Matter on the Memorial
of Mr Charnberlain which was presented & Read at the last
Court relating to Mary Bunting< no role >
& others & all Parties
Attending they were Called in & Heard And it Appearing that
the said Mary Bunting< no role >
who hath a Husband who is not Fee
of this City keeps a Victualling House
at or near Holborn
Bridge
& that she hath no Licence so to do but pretends to
keep the same for One Richard Holmes< no role >
who is a
Bricklayer
in Clerkenwell
but free of this City And the
said Holmes also Attending produced a Licence from the
Justices in Sessions in his Own Name & pretended that
the House was his & the said Bunting Only Acted therein
as his Servant
for which he paid her ten pounds a year
Wages. But this Court being of Opinion that the same
was done to Screen the said Bunting from the penalty of
the Law doth Order that it be Recomended to the
Justices of this City (from this Court) at their next
Session to Suppress the said Licence
