on Indictment for Porjury

The said Defendant Hugh Morgan< no role > and Nicolas Corner< no role > of the Parish of Saint
Clement Danes in the county of Middlesex Gentleman Severally make Oath
And first the said Morgan Saith That Mr William Fergusson< no role > and Mr George
Jones
< no role > are materiall Witnesses for him this Deponent on the Tryall of this Indictment or Came
[..] thout the benefit of whose Testimonys This Depont: cannot make his defence
[..] ely proceed to Tryall at this present Session And for that reason this
[..] did frequently Since the last day of last Term make and cause to be
[..] gent Inquiry after them the said Fergusson and Jones in diverse places
[..] is Depont. beleived he might most likely hear of them in order to Serve
[..] with Process of Subpena to appear as Witnesses for this Deponent on the said
[..] all for which Notice is given for Fryday next but could not find them or Either of
them And both the said Deponts Say that having a Writt of Subpena in this Cause
directed to the said Forgusson and Jones They did inquire after him the said Forgusson
on the Twenty fourth day of this Instant February at his late Lodgings as the
Dwelling house of Mr Jerry the Corner of Buckingham Court near White Hall
(which was the said Forgussons last place of Abode in England as these Deponents
are Informed and beleive in order to Serve the said Forgusson with the said Subpena
where the said Terry then Informed these Deponents that the said Forgusson went
Sometime in Autumn last from his the said Terrys house to Visit his Father in the
Town of Air in Scotland and that he was not then returned nor Expected to return
back till the beginning of much next when the said Terry said the said Forgusson
would return to London which these Deponents beleive to be true And these Deponts.
further say that they did on the said Twenty fourth Instant repair to the Dwelling
house ofJones Father of the said George tones at Slangate near Lambeth
in Surry (being the last place of Abode of the said George tones as these Deponents are
Informed and beleive) And Enquired thereafter him the said George Jones< no role > in order Serve
him with the said Subpena where a Woman (who [..] his mother) Informed these
Deponents that the said George Jones< no role > went Sometime last Summer on board the Leonard
man of Warr with the Fleet to Lisbon and that he was not then returned And that She
beleived he was on Board the said Ship as Lisbon Still which these Deponents beleive to
behind And the Deponent Corner further for himself Saith that he this Deponent
did on the saiid Twenty fourth day of [..] February Instant leave a true copy of the Notice hereunto
annexed at the Dwelling house of John Wigley< no role > next Law both Marsh in the County of Surry (who as this Depont. is informed
and verify beleives to be line is the Prosecutor in this Cause) with a young Woman
there who told this Deponent then that She was his the said John Wigley< no role > Sister
And this Depont further Saith that he did on the Same day leave Another true
copy of the like notice at the Chambers of Mr Thomas Vaughan< no role > in Hare Court
in the Inner Temple London) who is Solliciter or Agent for the aforesaid Prosecutor
in this Cause) with the Richard Floyer< no role > clerk or Agent for the said Thomas Vaughan< no role >
as this Deponent is Informed & verify beleives to be true
