of the Parish of St. James at Garlickhith
London, and the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St. Anne
in Black fryers London respectively.

WHEREAS Complaint hath this Day been made
unto us two of His Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for this City, and Liberties thereof (Quorum
unus) by You the Churchwardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of St. James at Garlickhith
London, That one Mary Whitton< no role > the Wife of John
Whitton
< no role > deced is lately come to remain in
your said Parish of St. James not having obtained any
legal Settlement there, and is likely to become charge
able thereto by reason of her Poverty and Age
unless timely prevented,
which Complaint we adjudge to be true. And forasmuch
as it appears unto us by the Oath of Thomas Williamson< no role >
that upwards of Forty years ago the said John Whitton
served about Three years of his Apprentiship with
Randolph Williamson< no role > his Father a Joyner in the Parish
of St. Anne in Blackfryers London from whence he
went to Sea & by any meanes whatsoever hath
not obtain d any subsequent Settlement. We the said Ju-
stices are therefore of Opinion, and do adjudge the last
legal Settlement of the said Mary Whitten
to be in the said
Parish of St. Anne in Blackfryers London
and that thitherto she
ought by Law to be sent.

THESE are therefore in His Majesty's Name to re-
quire You to remove and convey the said Mary Whitton
from and out of your said Parish of St. James at
Garlickhith London, to the said Parish of
St Anne in Blackfryars London and her leave with
the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or
one of them, who is and are hereby required to receive
and provide for her according to Law. Hereof fail
not, and this shall be your Warrant. Given under our
Hands and Seals the 3d. Day of June Anno
Domini 172 5 .
