The Informacon of John Day< no role > of the
Parish of St Bennet Finck London
Gent taken & acknowledged upon
Oath the 24th Day of Aprill Anno Din
1718

This Informt. Sayth that on Thursday the 17th of Aprill Instant
about 5 or 6 of the Clock in the afternoon, he this Informt,
& one Mr. Bower (since Deceased) Mr James Quin< no role > of
one Mr Martin were together at the Fleece Taven in
Cornhill London & that severall Jacose discourse
past between Mr Quin & Mr Bower but as he then
apprehended not in any manner that stened
passion or Anger on either side but about who
asked such & such parts left & also talking about
there honesty, Mr Bower Sayd that he was the houestep
or as honest A Man as angrin England [..]
[..] whereupon severall Jacose words passed between
Mr Quin & Mr Bower againe & thereupon a Wager was Layd
in a like manner of a Crown a peice (as this Informt.
reciearbes) & staked in Mr Martins hands, that in
Mr Martins opinion Mr Bower was the house per
as honest a man as any in England & that some
word being mentioned against Mr [..] Bower
Reputation of a Whore, & a Childe, & drinkeing the
Duke of Oramond heath Mr Martin thereupon sayd,
that if these words were time he Could not say that
Mr Bower had Won the Wager, & desired to be excused
of Giveing his opinion, in the matter & Gave Mr Quin
her money back againe but did not return Mr Bower
his money then [..] he remember and Sayth that all this matter
passed in a Jacose manner without the Lenst sign
of anger on either side, and that Quickly after
without any sign or expression of Anger, Mr Bower
there down some money an the table to pay his share
of it Removing & went away at of the Room, and
Sayth, that in Less than a Quarter open house a Parter
