taken upon Oath before me this
13th. day of May 1715
And first this Exaint John Atherton< no role >
saith that on ye
30th. of April last Four person came into thisInf [..] ts.Examts.
house wch. is ye. Dog Tavern at Billinsgate
between
4 and 8 of the clock in ye. Evening who were all except
Mr. Lister unknown to thisInformt.Examts. and the names of the
other three persons as thisInformt.Examts. hath been since told
are Edward Newton< no role >
Nicholas Parker< no role >
and Wm. Rice< no role >
and Saith
that after they had drank twelve or thirteen Shillings worth of
wine together Mr. Lister and Edward Newton< no role >
each drank
a Quart and allmost half a Pint of White Port & red
mixt at a Draught and that soon after the said
Mr. Lister and Edwd. Newton being very much in drink
the sd. Edwd. Newton fell from his Chair and fore his
Coate and the sd. Wm. Rice helpd the sd.NicholasEdward
ParkerNewton up and pind up the lappet of his Coate And
both the said Mr. Lister and Mr. Newton Slept in their
Chairs and that during ye. time of their Sleeping the
sd. Nicholas Parker< no role >
came out of the Kitchen to the
Barr and left the sd. Mr. Rice with ye. sd. Mr. Lister &
Edwd. Newton and that after thersaid Mr Lister &
Edwd. Newton awaked the sd. Lister declared he knew
where he was and wou'd not goe out of the house
that night & imediately went up Stairs and Say on
a bed in this Examints. house all that Night
And this Exaint saith that the said Edward Newton< no role >
soon after (wch. was neare one of the clock) desired
to goe home And this Exaint. with one of this
