The Information of Edward Newton< no role > of London Silk Throwster taken upon Oath
before me this 11th. day of May 1715 .

This Informts. deposeth that on Saturday the 30th. day of April last about seaven
of ye clock in ye Evening this Informt. meeking with one Mr. Lister this
Informts. particular Acquaintance neare the Royall Exchange new pressed
very muth to go with him on board a certain Vessell called the Parker Yatcht
or Frigat Ging in the River of Thames where this Informt. was informed
he should meet with one Nicholas Parker< no role > who had owked this Informant
the same oay in ye. morning to go on board the said Frigat wch. this Informt
then copused to ded nor caring for the said Parkers Company but was at
last prevailed on by the said Lister to goe along with him in order to goe
on bedro the said Frigat and this Informt. & the sd. Lister with one Wm. Rice< no role >
a stranger to this Informt. but intimately acquainted with the said Parker
tooke a Boat at Billings [..] for that [..] pose but meeting ye. sd. Parker
man Return from the safe [..] sell this Informt. deo not goe [..] on board but
returner with the said Parker Lister and Rice to the Dog Tavern at
Billingsgate about Eight a clock in the Evening of the said 30th. day of
April at which time time Informt. and the sd. Parker Lister & Rice sat down
to drink a Bottle of Wine in the said Tavern and this Informt. positively Saith
that when time this Informt. and down with his said Company in ye. said Tavern
he this Informt. had in the Coat pocket on ye. left side in a mony Bagg
twisted round about in English and them [..] Guineas Broad peices of Gold
and Pistols the Sume of One hundred and thirty pounds at least which
this Informt. had been collecting with an in tent together with other
mony this Informt. or perted to have received that day to discharge
a Flote of this Informts. hand for: One hundred fifty eight pounds
eighteen shillings wch. lay for payment at Mr Atwells a Gold smith
in Exchange alley and this Informt. positively saith that from ye time
of his coming into the said Tavern aforesaid till the time of his going
out which was about twelve a clock the same night he this Informt.
was not in any other Company then as aforesd. and that he had not
gone above twenty Yards or there abouts from the said Tavern
but he missed his Bag of money and imediately returned with the
Tavern Boy (who went with him to light him home) to his sd company
at the said Tavern and declared to them he had lost him said Bag
of mony upon wch. the said Parker and Rice suddenly went away
having gott this Informts. said Bagg of money as this Informt. doth
derily believe and suspect and the rather fee that the said Rice
most past of the night sat next to this Informt. And upon this Informts.
challenging the said Parker and Rice with his Bagg of money And ye.
Master of the Tavern supposing this Informt. to be the son of one
Newton known to the said Vintner to be worthless man told the sd.
Parker that he knew this Informt. and his Father very well and
