William Evans< no role > of the Borough of Southwark Indigo Maker maketh oath and
Saith that for Seventeen Yearsthis Dept. has Constantly
kept a Certain Fair or Mart Called Gainsburgh Mart in the County
of Lincoln being one Hundred & twelve Miles distant from London where
this Dept. disposes and Sells great quantityes of Indigo, Cork and other
things that this Dept. trades in Considerabely to this Depts. advantage and
proffitt which said Mart every Year begins on Monday in Easter Weeks
And this Dept. being Bound in Recognizance to prosecute one William
Pilkinton
< no role > at the next Sessions to be held at the Old Baily in London This
Dept. was not Informed neither did he know the Exact time when the said
Sessions would be held untill this day being the Eleventh of Aprill this
Dept. being at Lincoln in his way to Gainsburgh received a Letter from
one Mr. Richard Symons< no role > of London that he must be in London on Easter
Monday or Tuesday Morning to prosecute the said Pilkinton which this
Dept. Cannot without Looseing the benefitt of the Mart which will be
a very great Damage and Losse to this Dept. he haveing A Considerable
quantity of goods Ordered to be there in order to be then Sold and Disposed
of.
