Whereas Complaint hath beene made unto us Whose hands and seales are
hereunto Sett two of her Majesties Justices of the Peace of the Citty of London
Quorum (Unus) by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poore of the Parish of
St. Giles without Criplegate London that Mathew Pocock< no role > & Alice< no role > his Wife are
lately come into the said Parish endeavouring to gaine a Setlement there
without giveing Notice in Boriteing of the Place of his Abodle or Number of his
Family to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poore of the said Parish as by
Law is required and are likely to become chargeable to the said Parish, And
for asmuch as Oath is made before us by Alice Pocock< no role > the wife of the said
Mathew Pocock< no role > that his last legall Setlement was in the Parish of St. Giles
without Criplegate in the County of Middx where he was bound by Indenture &
Served his Aprenticeship with Mrs Petit dwelling in Bricklane , and after
the expiration of his Aprenticeship he divelt and Inhabited in the said Parish
above Inventy peace and hath since gained no other legall Setlement Theirs are therefore
in her Majesties Name to will and require on the Office of the Parish of St Giles
without Criplegate London aforesaid Some & One of you to take
away the said Mathew Pocock< no role > & Alice Pococke< no role > his Wife to the
[..] Parish of St. Giles without Criplegate in the
County of Middx aforesaid and there deliver them to the Churchwarden and
Overseer of the Poore of the said Parish or One of them who are hereby
likewise in her Majesties Name required to receive and provide for them
according to law, and hereof you Nor any of open are to Saile given under
our hands & Seales this Twenty Ninth day of May Seaventeene hundred & Six
