Assembled

The humble Petition and Appeale of the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poore of the Parish of St. Thomas
the Apostle London

Sheweth


That by virtue of a Warrant under the hands and Seales of twoe of Her
Maties. Justices of the Peace within the City of London One being of the
Quox bearing date the Fourth day of November last One Anne Sheppard< no role >
Widdow with Eight Children were by the Churchwardens & Overseers of the
doore of the Parish of St. Mary Aldermary London Sent to yor. Petrs. to be
Provided for upon the Oath of Elias Baker< no role > That the Said Anne Sheppard< no role >
lived in and kept an house in the Parish of St. Thomas the Apostle London of
about £15 P Ann Rent for above twoe Yeares after her husbands Death Whereas
in Truth the Said Anne Sheppard< no role > Since Shee Lived in yor. Petrs. Parish hath
taken an house of above £x yearely Rent in the Parish of St Mary Aldermary

Wherefore yor. Petrs. humbly pray yor. Honors. & Worpps. to
heare them in the prmisses And Order the Churchwardens
& Overseers of the Poore of the Parish of St.Mary Aldermary
London To appeare here before you And to Shew Cause why
the Said Warrant made by the Said twoe Justices Should
not be Quashed And the Said Anne Sheppard< no role > Sent to the
Churchwardens & Overseers of the poore of the Said Parish
of St. Mary Aldermary London To be by them provided for
and maintained untill They can Free themselves of the
Charge thereof by due Course of Lawe
