Informt. very ill provokeing words
and this Informt. desired ye sd Cowland to
be friends and he would give him wt
satisfaccon he pleased, and also Sr. Andrew
told ye sd Cowland that he would give
him satisfaccon on ye morrow & offer'd
toyetell him where he lodged; And
this Informt. desired them to be friends
& go and drinke a glass of wine together
which Mr Cowland seemingly consent'd
to and whilst this Informt. stood at ye
foott of ye [..] ye Sd Sr Andrew & Mr
Cowland were gone up, and imediately
this Informt. hearing a great noise on
ye sudden he ran up Staires as fast as
he could & saw some person have hold
off Mr Cowland whose sword was then
naked in his hand but did not see
any other sword drawne & as this
Informt had taken hold on Mr Cowland
Sr Andrew told this Informt that he
was wounded & afterwards told this

Informt. that (Cowland) had barbarous
murdered him before his sword was
drawne. And this Informt. afterwards
seised ye sd Cowland & tooke his sword
from him which was then bloody five
or six inches & then thrust him into
