The humble Petition of the Churchwardens & Overseers
of the Poore of the Parish of Alhallowes on
ye wall London
Sheweth
That yor. Petrs. Parish is scituate were London wall
And are not able to
raise sufficient sumes of money amongst themselves to releive their
Poore Notwithstanding their Assessements are very greate gett the
charge of their Poore is above their said Assessement As the same
upon full examinacon hath Appeared to divers Aldermen of this City
appointed to heare the same and their Poore increaseing upon them
And haveing many Allies within their Said Parish And have assessed
the Inhitants to pay seaven quartrs. within the yeare past.
Their humble Suites therefore unto yor. good Honors.
& Worpps. is that you will be favourably pleased to grant
unto them the contribucon of £12. from other Pishes
wthin. this City for & towardes the releiveing their Poore
as they have formerly had by reason of their greate
charge & number of Poore Or such further allowance
As to yor. Honors & Worpps. shall seeme meete.
