The Information of Edmond Hollingsworth< no role >
Watchman taken before the Rt. Honourable
Sr. John Fleet< no role > Kt . Lord Major of London and
one of their Majesties Justices of the Peace
for the said City the 8th. day of March 1692

This Informt. saith that on Sunday Morning last between
the Hours of one and Two a Clock Mr. Wade a Constable
came and took this Informt. from his Hand and bid him
goe along with him and thereupon came to the Sheppard
Tavern in Cheapside whee they found three Men in the
Passage in a low Room and the Constable asked them
what Company was there in the House the 3 Persons
or one of them made Answer there was a Person of Quality
above and bid the Constable goe upp Staires if he durst
whereupon the Constable went upp and bid this Informt.
and the rest of his Watchmen follow him and when they
were upp in Mr. Sheppards Chamber they found a Man
playing on a Harp & another Man with a Flask of Wine
in his hand & a glass in ye other and Mr. Sheppard the Master of
the house in Bedd ye Constable comanded his men to carry ye
Harper to ye Compter and then came back & did order the
other Man to be carryed to the Compter that had ye Flask
in his hand wth was done accordingly and ye Constable comeing
down Stairs a Person below Staires Questioned the Constables
Authority ye Constable ordered him to be carryed to the
Compter and went himself wth him & being informed by his men
that there was more in ye house went back to the Taverne
& Knock'd at door severall times & a man comeing to ye
door told ye Constable Mr. Sheppard had the Keys and he could
not open ye door whereupon ye Constable comanding in ye Kings
Name ye door was opened & then ye Constable went in & sent
another Person to ye Compter that he found in the house
