The Informacon of Thomas Bonner< no role >
Watchman taken before the Right honoble:
Sr. John Fleet< no role > Knt . Lord Major & one of
their Matyes. Justices of the peace for the City
of London the 8th. day of March 1692

This Informant saith that on Sunday morning
last between the houres of one and two a clock Richd.

< no role > another Watchman came to this Informant
& told him there was some playing upon Musick at
Mr. Sheppards or Vintner at the Signe of the Sheppard in
Cheap. Side thereupon this Informant went and
told Mr. Wade the Constable & this Informant with ye
Constable came to the Sheppard taverne & when they
came into the house this Informant saw three men
in the Passage in a Low Roome & the Constable asbed
them what Company there was in the house one of the
Said Persons made Answeare there was a person of
quality above & bid him goe up staires if hee durst where
upon the Constable went up & bid this Informant and
the rest of his Watchmen fellow him & when they were up
in Mr. Sheppards Chamber they found a man playing
on a Harpe & another man wth. a flase of wine in one
hand & a Glass in the other & Mr. Sheppard the Mr. of the house
in bedd the Constable comanded his Watchmen to carry
the Harper to ye Compter & then came back & the Constable
then ordered the other Man that had the flask in his hand
to the Compler wch. was don accordingly & the Constable coming
down staires a person below Staires [..]
questioned the Constables Authority the Constable also
ordered him to be carryed to the Compter & went himselfe
wth. him and being informed by his men that there was more
in the house went back to ye said taverne and knockt at the
doore sevrall times and [..] man coming to ye Poore told ye
Constable Mr. Sheppard had the Keys and he could not open
name the doore was opened & then the Constable went in
& Sent another Pson to the Compter that hee found in
the Said house
