Depositions agst. them on Suspicion of having Murdered a Woman
and Child

Joseph Athinson< no role > at No. 49 High Street Mile End new Town
Taylor on his Oath saith This day he went to the house of
Richard William Patmore< no role > at No. 54 in the said Street Stay Maker on
receiving information form Sarah< no role > his Wife that a Woman and
Child had been murdered in the said house taking with him Two
neighbours Henry Eyes< no role > and and Robert Pridmore< no role > where they saw a
Woman in the Garrett dead on some straw her body Exposed
a Stocking Speetchle of View part of her body burnt and some
Linnen Burnt and hearing that said Woman had lately been delivered
and no Child to be foundThey had the said Richard Wm. Patmore< no role >
and Rachel Patmore< no role > apprehendedforOn Suspicion of murdering
the said Woman and Child

Hannah Taylor< no role > on her Oath saith to the best of her Recollection on
Saturday after new year day last William Patmore< no role > came to her in High
Street Mile End New Town his the forenoon about Eleven and asked her if
she would come to his house to a Woman in Great Distress and to go with
him says she went and upstairs she found a Woman laging on a mater or more
with a female Child by her of which said Woman had been lately delivered
That she tyed the Novel Thirty and wrapt said child up in [..] Woman
at which time both woman and Child were both well That she helped William
to move her to that down room and lay her in another Room on a Truss of straw
and covered her with an old thick quilt that she gave her Candle a Good me
and dressed the Child with things William Patmore< no role > bought says she
came away went next morning asked Mr. Patmore how the Woman
did who answered have and hearty and That she was not sent
for after nor did she go afterwards before to day
