for the said County the 3rd.
day of January 1789
First this Informant Mary Maley< no role >
upon her oath saith that she deals in Stockings and lives in a house
the Corner of Chapel Street
in the Parish of St. Ann
Westminster
that on the
first day of January last she put a large Quantity of Stockings of the
Value of Fairly founds and upwards into two Seperate Bags and placed
them in a Room in the lower part of the house between five and Six OClock
at night that she saw person locked the door and took away the Key that this Informant went
put and staid till about Ten o Clock before she returned that before she
[..] went out she is certain that the foredoor of the house
of [..]
was bolted that she went out of the back door which her son made fast
after her that on her return about Ten o'Clock she discovered the back
door had been opened that she was alarmed and upon Examining
found that the Door of the Room wherein she had locked up her Goods was
open and that the two Bags Containing the Quantity of Stockings as
aforesaid where taken away And further this Informant upon
her Oath saith that the two pair of Cotton Stockings now produced are
the property of her and verily believes the other Six pair of Childrens
and other Stockings produced by the Informant John Watkins< no role >
to be her property
also and a part of the Stockings so stolen as aforesaid

upon
his Oath saith that all the Stockings now produced he brought of
Stephen Reynolds< no role >
about a Month ago that at the same time he
purchased Twenty five pair more of him the said Reynolds some of
which he has Disposed of that the eight Pair now voluntarily produced by him are a
part of the Twenty five pair that he also bought of him about three [..]
Yards of Green Kersey mere, and three Waistcoat Pieces of which the
two Waistcoat pieces now voluntarily Produced by him are a

Consequence of the Information he had from Reynolds he found the two
pair of Mens Cotton Stockings now produced in the Room of John Watkins< no role >
in Bowl Yard
in the Parish of Saint Giles in the fields
