The Information of Mr John Christie< no role > taken before me
this 22 day of Janry 1789 (prosecutor) & Mr Thos: Brown< no role > & Joseph
Percivall
< no role > Constable (Evidence) (all on Oath)

Ten Minutes John Christie< no role > says that last Saturday
Night about [..] after Nine he went from Charing Cross to
towards his House in peter Street in the Parish of St Johns Ye
near the Ewd of Peter Street he was Knoched down in the
Street by a Blow at the Back part of his Head which
Hurried him for about a Minute that upon getting up the Men
now present yt calls himself James Suitor laid hold of this
Infort Hand to help him up saying you have had a Bad
fall yt this Infort answerd he had & not seeing any person
near him was afraid (not Knowing then yt He had been Robbed
therefore ask the sd James Suitor< no role > the Way to No 11 Peter St
where this Infort said he lived that sd James Suitor went
a few Yards & Shawed this Infort. the Way then left him after
the sd James Suitor was gone almost Instantly this Infort
found he was Robbd off a Mottle Watch Engravd, a Steel Chain
and Key, a Gold, Pump Seal, lypher J.C Masons arms, reverse
a half Crawn, Piece and a Mourning Ring on his left hand
little Finger all which this Infort is sure he had in his Posses
ion the Time he was knocked down that He was sober at
the Time that before he this Infort was knocked down there
was no person near him that he saw, nor afterwards exept
tings the said James Suitor that he this Infort is perfect in
this recollection as to the person & Features of the said
James Suitor that he was dress'd in Regimentall Waistcoat
Breeches White with a Brownish Coat Coose and round Hat that to
the best of this Infort recollection he thinks he felt the Ring
took of his Finger he sd James suitor when he lifted that In
formant up having hold of his Hand further this Infort says
that ye King now produced is the very same Ring he had
on the Little Finger of His left harrd the time he was
Knocked down having receiv'd it on acct of a Deceasd [..]
of the Name of James Baster< no role > aged 54 who Died the begin-
ning of last Novr.

Thos Brown< no role > for himself says
that past Saturday nightthat last Saturday Nightabout Ele-
ven O Clock the Woman now present that calls herself
Elizabeth Williams< no role > came to his House Strutton Ground [..]
the Ring now produced pledge for five Shillings ye upon being asked by this Infort where
she got the sd Ring answerd that James Suitor gave it
her ye this Infort asked her Name and where she lived ye tham
sword her Name was Cornwall and yt she livd at No 3 Duck Yard
yt this Inform upon enquiry finds sd Woman does not live there
