this 10th. day of July 1789

Who being upon Oath severally say and first the said John Bluck< no role >
for himself says that on Wednesday last the Eighth Instant he
this Informant dined at a [..] Coffee house in the City at which time he is
perfectly sure he had his watch in his pocket and about Two Guineas
in Money and also his Handkerchief that after dinnerhehe this Informant drank rather
freely, but perfectly well recollects taking a Coach at or near Charing Cross
and was conveyed to his house at Fulham, that before he arrived home
he missed his watch and money and also his Handkerchiefthat the
watch and Handkerchief now produced by Informant Jeremiah
Hill
< no role > are his propertyAnd the said William Edson< no role > for himself
says that between the hours of Nine and Ten of the Night of
Wednesday last being near Scotland Yard he observed a person very
much in Liquor and a Soldier was leading him, upon which Informant
asked a man who was lighting the Lamp, and where Name he
believes is Thomas Tarrett what was the matter who answered
Informant that the Soldier who was then attendinghimsaid
person had robb'd him of his Watch, that Informant saw said
Soldier lead said person to White Hall facing the Horse Guards
[..] where said person sat down, and Informant saw said Soldier
put his hand into said Gentleman pocket and took there from
a Quantity of Money which he believes to [..] have been Silver
and which [..] he saw afterwards in said Soldiers Hand, that the
next morning Informant Williams came to his masters shop at the
Horse Guards , and this Informant acquainted said Williams that
the Soldier who was a Breeches maker had robb'd a Gentleman
the Night before of his watch and Moneyand that the person now present who calls himself Samuel Alsford< no role > is the person who took the said money from persons Pocket And the said John
Williams
< no role > for himself says that the next morning he this
Deponent charged a person now present who calls himself
Samuel Alsford< no role > andwith having robb'd a person the Night
before of his watch and money, which said Alsford denied, upon
which he this Informant immediately search'd said Alsford, and upon
him found the watch and Handkerchief now produced by Jeremiah Hill< no role >
