The Information of Benjamin

10th. day of October 1788

Who being upon Oath saith that on Tuesday Night
last he went to his Brother near Longford to borrow
five Guineas that he obtained it and left his Brother
at the Kings Head at Longford on Wednesday Morning
at ten o'Clock at which time he had in his right
Waistcoat Pocket four Guineas and a half That he
came to the Bell at Hounslow in a return Post Chaise
that he changed one of the Guineas at Hounslow and
the same Evening about six or seven o'Clock got into
another return Post Chaise to come to London of
which Chaise John Longman< no role > now present was
the Driver That there was another Passenger in said
Chaise with this Informant who got out as he believes
at Brentford That when this Informant got into
said Longmans Chaise at Hounslow he had in his
right Hand Waistcoat Pocket either sixteen or seventeen
Shillings in Silver and about Fifteen Pennyworth of
half pence That when the Chaise had got through
Hammersmith the said Longman (being then in
the Chaise with this Informant) this Informant
felt said Longmans left Hand in this Informants
right Hand Waistcoat Pocket where his Gold was
when he immediately seized said Longmans Hand< no role >
and asked him what business his Hand had in this
Informants Pocket when said Longman replied he was
feeling for some Walnuts That whilst this Informant
had hold
